Tattoo AftercareLooking after your tattoo carefully will speed up healing times, and help to make sure that the colour sets bright and strong. It will also help to avoid the need for touch-ups later. Anyway, our aftercare tips are so easy and simple, why wouldn't you...? After you get your tattooYour artist will cover your tattoo for you. Keep that on at least until you get home. After that, keep it clean and dry. Until the tattoo is healed, avoid exposing it to strong sunlight for long periods, and keep it loosely covered to avoid contamination and help to prevent damage. For the first few nights, you may want to protect it while you're sleeping by loosely wrapping a fresh clean towel around it. Looking after your tattoo until it healsApplying nappy rash cream several times a day will speed up healing, and help to reduce any swelling. It can also help to prevent itching. Don't be shy to take showers - wash your tattoo with luke-warm water and an anti-bacterial soap, but don't soak it... rinse it quickly, and dry it carefully but thoroughly by patting it with a clean towel. Avoid scratching and picking at all costs... scratching around the tattoo may quell your urge. |
